You don’t need us to tell you that winter has well and truly arrived. The soggy socks, cold hands, frosty windscreens, icy roads and endless snowy social media posts do that job for us. But what we can tell you about is booze; what’s good, what will work for your guests and when to order it.
We reckon that picking your winter tipples is one job that you can get sorted and off your desk pretty much straight away. We understand that there are a million and one jobs to be done, and it can feel a bit like you’re snowed under in the lead up to those first guests arriving. That’s why we want to help you with the stuff we know about. Namely; booze.
Here’s what we suggest:
Get yourself along to one of our tastings:
We know we bang on about them, but they really are the best way to get a good feel for your winter wines. We’ll always have at least two members of the LVG team on hand to talk you through our wines and discuss what will work for you, as well as a massive selection of our wine and beer so whether you just want to confirm your tentative choices or you’re going for a completely new wine list, you’ll be able to try before you buy.
Our tastings between now and mid-December are as follows (all run 3pm-9pm):
17th November: La Taverne, Méribel
18th November: MBC, Chamonix
23rd November: Le Renard, Châtel
24th November: L’Aubergade, Morzine
1st December: L’Aubergade, Morzine
2nd December: The Gustavia Hotel, Chamonix
8th December: P Bar, Saint Martin de Belleville
Start thinking about training:
Training your staff can be a daunting task; all that jargon and those impossible to pronounce names, not to mention what wines to recommend for what dishes. We’ve stepped up our game this year to ensure you can deliver confident and easy to follow training to your staff. Check out our training videos, which should offer you non-snobby help on all the fundamentals, including wine service, wine tasting and wine production. You can also download our Cheat Sheets, which will give you and your team information on each of our wines.
Get your orders in:
Once you’ve picked your wine & beer selection, there’s only one thing left to do. Get that first order in! We’re sending out deliveries across the Alps already so why not email Jane with your order, and we’ll do the rest. It’s as easy as that.
