Il Faggio Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2018
A very fruity wine with cherry, raspberry, pepper and vanilla aromas. Charming and delicious. Perfect with pasta, ragu, lamb and pizza.
DOC Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
What we say
Deep ruby red in colour, with lifted perfumes of dark fruits, plums and cherries and a hint of mocha. This wine has soft, ripe tannins and a delicious chocolate-cherry finish. Pair with grilled meats, such as pork chops or duck with a current jus. Sun-ripened tomatoes also pair well.
What they say
Made from 100% Montepulciano grapes, only the very best quality grapes were chosen for this blend from hand-harvested fruit. Grapes were fermented in stainless steel to retain purity of fruit character. A food-friendly wine to drink with Italian dishes, grilled meats and strong cheeses.

About the producer Il Faggio
Il Faggio is made by Alana McGettigan, at one of the regions best co-operatives in the northern part of the Abruzzi. The aim is to capture in the bottle the power and intensity of the grape, together with a lift and freshness which is seldom found in wines from this area. The name Il Faggio derives from the fabulous beech trees which proliferate in this area, especially in the Abruzzo national park.
